Crossing The Strait

Still from my late journey. This was my first time to cross Bali Strait in a ferry. It launched in the late afternoon from Ketapang, Banyuwangi, and arrived an hour later at Gilimanuk, Bali. Being in a boat was an opportunity to see another different perspective. The s ea seemed borderles s and it g ave me an eerie feelingt when I saw the vast emptiness in front of me. I wished I saw some sea creatures though , but it didn't happen. So, it's always comforting when I saw another ship or boat passing. At least we're not alone. Leaving the port of Ketapang. Another ferry makes me merry. Bali on the other side. Flying nimbus? Is Goku there? :) Arriving at Gilimanuk.

Baluran After The Rain

When I visited Baluran National Park at the end of 2015, it was on December, and the Park was in humid condition after the rain poured down hard in the afternoon. So, I couldn't see the famous savanna that was similar to its counterpart in Africa. However, I still could capture the beauty of it with a slight of luck, because my visit was in critical hours when the Park was nearly closed. It was also almost dusk, so the light wasn't too generous.  The famous icon of Baluran: Bull skulls. The welcome board. Bekol Savannah after the rain. Mangrove roots. Calm. A single boat at Bama Beach. People can snorkeling here when the weather is sunny. The centerpiece: Mount Baluran.

Seeing Some Artworks at Galeri Nasional

I was lucky enough to witness an exhibition in Galeri Nasional (Indonesian National Gallery). It's back on 2015 when the Galeri showed the works of Indonesian Young Artist Award finalists. This was also my first time to attend such an event like this. Gladly, we could take picture here. So, I snapped several of their artworks with my pocket cam. Some of them left deep impressions in my mind, and I'm gladly to share  them here. Galeri Nasional. The front door. This painting really blew me away. I stood observing it for long, admiring the artist's meticulous work. It reminded me of some medieval masked party in Europe. Those who lived in history. Sea shell? I wonder how the artist had such a consistency to make this kind of pattern. My hat off to him. All about woman. The trumpets and the balance just caught my eyes, and made me so curious about the meaning. What is love? This also left an impact in my mind. A broken i

Food Truck is the New Black

I don't know when it started, but in the last 2 years I noticed that food trucks became a hit. Some trucks initially opened in the nearest neighborhood, and then it became a domino effect. One day, there were food truck festival around a new-opened mall in Serpong, so I couldn't help it to be there to take a glimpse and try some food. Food trucks around the mall. Interesting menu board. This is to die for. Just love the tagline. Several food trucks had shown creativity, just like the mega mendung batik pattern on the truck. This yellow truck was so stunning with the cooking ninja. I found a truck that sell coffee from around the archipelago.
