Mural to Lift Up Your Spirit in Dining Room

I was very impressed with Ivory Hotel. I stayed in this little yet cozy hotel when I visited Bandung few years ago. When I opened my pile of pics that I took, I found those two shots. I remembered taking these pics when I had breakfast, because that mural was really striking.

The painting had the touch of 50's-60's era, reminded me of Casablanca kind of movie. I think the designer had put it there on purpose, in order to boost the spirit of the customers after spending the night here, so they could continue their journey. Just like me that day. This hotel had several murals like this in another rooms, actually. But I think the mural in dining area was the best.

There were also knickknacks everywhere in the dining room, mostly vintage. Just like the volkswagen and motorcycle figurines on the shelf. Very well-planned concept, blending well together with the vintage wall mural.

Around Jatiluhur Reservoir

Not far from Bandung, there's a town of Purwakarta. We passed that town in the way to Jakarta, and we decided to stop by to see the famous the dam: Jatiluhur Dam or Juanda Dam. This reservoir is harboring water from Citarum River, and has purpose as a power plant and also a recreation park now, since it's surrounded with beautiful scenery. This is a good spot for family vacation, if you like enjoying humble nature.  On the deck.    Viewing deck. The touch of the tree.     Wall of confession.  The turbin.

Around The Fatahillah

In January, 24, 2009, I had a chance to pass by Fatahillah Museum. It was in the early morning, so the museum was still close. But the environment still fascinated me. There were some old buildings which still stood from the past, when the city of Jakarta was still occupied by the Dutch. The morning scene was splendid here. So, I wandered around for a while outside the museum, taking in everything in the past. :) The Museum, already swarmed by people who held some morning activities . Merapi From Afar

I was travelling in the outskirts of Yogyakarta when I saw this view. I couldn't help it but get down from the car and enjoy the view as long as I could. The peak on the back was still suffered from the eruption back then on 2010. Standing here feels like untouchable from the eruption. Creek in the bottom. This flower reminds me of edelweiss. Many of them grow here.
